This Friday at South by Southwest, the annual music, film, and interactive festival in Austin Texas, will be the premiere of the feature film 808, a documentary about the classic Roland TR-808 drum machine. Apparently it was two years in the making and contains a plethora of notable musicians and producers such as Rick Rubin, Afrika Bambaataa, and Phil Collins just to name a few.
I hope this makes it onto one of the streaming services rather soon, or possibly play in the theater somewhere here in NYC. I’d love to catch it on the big screen!
